Kathie Spencer, owner of Fitness Alternatives, A Whole Health Movement is a pilates instructor filled with passion to help her clients accomplish their fitness goals. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996, she left the real estate industry to take responsibility for her health. Her interest in whole health began with classes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee focusing on fitness, nutrition and meditation. She is certified as a personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise.

Her past focus in dance and movement led her to pilates. Kathie feels that pilates becomes a way of life, a spiritual connection that restores physical vitality. Certified through the PhysicalMind Institute of New York City in matwork and through countless hours of observation and study, completed her pilates equipment certification in Chicago. Kathie has taken master level classes through the Pilates Center of Boulder at Pilates on the Lake. She has a pre and post-natal certificate and has taught classes in strength and resistance, cardio kick box, and hip hop for moms and daughters. 


Her studio, located in the Med Alliance Wellness Center, across from the new Bayshore Town Center, offers private and semi-private fitness training, pilates mat and equipment and stress relieving techniques to enhance overall health and wellness.
